Crane tonnage alone does not determine whether a crane can safely perform a lift. The crane must have sufficient capacity at the actual working radius and configuration required for the lift. A load positioned further away from the crane can require substantially more crane capacity than the same load lifted close to the machine.
This is why useful RFQ information includes the load weight, dimensions, pickup point, final position, working radius, required height, access conditions and available crane setup area.

Some projects do not require a conventional mobile crane for every stage of the job. Truck-mounted crane and truck rental options can be useful where equipment needs to be collected, transported, loaded, offloaded or repositioned as part of the same project.
Truck-mounted cranes combine transport capability with lifting support for suitable loads and site conditions. They can be particularly useful for equipment delivery, collection, loading, offloading and work where a separate transport vehicle and crane may not be required.
Truck rental can be incorporated where the project requires transport of machinery, steelwork, equipment or other industrial loads. For larger machine moves, transport can form part of a broader lifting, rigging and relocation scope.
Shutdown lifting is different from an ordinary site lift. Production windows can be limited and multiple maintenance activities may be taking place simultaneously. Crane requirements should therefore be planned around the equipment being removed or installed, access, lifting sequence and available working area.

Ground conditions remain an important part of crane setup. Site information should be provided before mobilisation so that the crane requirement and support arrangements can be properly considered. Heavy-duty outrigger pads and stabiliser support products for suitable mobile cranes, truck-mounted cranes, all-terrain cranes and other equipment requiring stable outrigger support.
Outrigger pads assist with distributing outrigger reaction over a larger area. Correct pad selection must consider the equipment, expected outrigger reaction, pad size and the ground or supporting surface. The use of an outrigger pad does not remove the need to assess whether the ground and setup area are suitable.
Steel wire rope supply for mobile cranes and other lifting applications, including enquiries for high-performance and rotation-resistant rope constructions where suitable for the crane and application.
A mobile-crane rope should not be selected from diameter alone. Correct selection requires the crane or winch specification, rope construction, diameter, length, direction or characteristics where applicable, drum and sheave compatibility, operating conditions and the equipment manufacturer's requirements.

Our base is at 50 Springs Road, Vulcania, Brakpan. Gauteng and the surrounding industrial regions form an important part of our service area, while suitable project enquiries can be assessed nationally.
For projects further from our base, mobilisation, crane availability, project duration and logistics become part of the quotation. This is particularly important for large cranes, remote sites and longer-term rental requirements.
